Fiege Air Cargo Logistics is Swiss WorldCargo's new mail handling partner at Zurich Airport
Fiege Air Cargo Logistics (FACL) is expanding its area of operation and its service portfolio. At Zurich Airport, FACL is the new service provider for airmail handling for Swiss WorldCargo, the airfreight division of Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS).
Zurich/Frankfurt, 3rd April 2025 - Fiege Air Cargo Logistics and Swiss WorldCargo are entering into a new partnership at Zurich Airport. The air cargo subsidiary of Greven-based logistics service provider Fiege will be responsible for mail handling at Swiss WorldCargo's hub at Switzerland's largest air cargo hub by far. FACL will handle the entire sorting and distribution process of all airmail letters for import, export and transit.
Alain Chisari, Head of Swiss WorldCargo, says: "Working with reliable and innovative partners is an important prerequisite for enabling and shaping progress in our freight industry. We are very pleased to partner with Fiege Air Cargo Logistics to further improve our mail handling processes. By combining our strengths, we are not only further developing our services, but also creating new opportunities to offer our customers the greatest possible added value."
FACL has around 2,700 square metres at its disposal for handling airmail at the Zurich hub. At the beginning of March, Swiss WorldCargo officially handed over the handling area, including an automated handling system, to its new handling partner. Swiss WorldCargo expects the new co-operation to further improve the quality and reliability of its SWISS Mail product and offer even more flexible mail handling services.
Benjamin Looser, Managing Director of Fiege Air Cargo Logistics, says: "We are very grateful for the trust that Swiss WorldCargo has placed in us and look forward to taking the next step in our expansion strategy with this new partnership. With our expertise in air cargo handling, automation and digitalisation, together we will further develop airmail handling in Zurich and create added value for Swiss WorldCargo's customers."
