Berlin-based company O'Donnell Moonshine bundles production and logistics at the revitalized Prologis site in Berlin-Weißensee
Berlin, September 9, 2026 – The spirits manufacturer O'Donnell Moonshine, founded twelve years ago in Berlin, will in future bundle bottling, logistics and office at one location in Berlin-Weißensee. In the approximately 17,000-square-meter property newly developed by Prologis, O'Donnell will use a unit of around 5,000 square meters and, for the first time, will also take over other production steps such as mixing itself. Completion of the new site is scheduled for the first half of 2027.

"O'Donnell was born in Berlin and we want to continue to grow here," explains August Ullrich, founder at O'Donnell Moonshine. "We started with small quantities and filled, labeled and packaged the first Mason Jars by hand in my apartment. After twelve years of growth, Prologis' new location in Berlin-Weißensee now gives us the opportunity to plan larger production volumes and at the same time react more flexibly to the requirements of our growing international business."
In addition to the technical requirements for food production, the location within Berlin and accessibility for employees were also important criteria for O'Donnell when choosing a location.
With the new business park on the Industriebahn, Prologis is revitalizing a business location that has existed for decades and is also fundamentally renewing the building and energy infrastructure. The new building complex will be fully electrically operated; the heat will be supplied by air heat pumps, and a photovoltaic system is planned on the roof.
In the planning, Prologis also takes into account the immediately adjacent residential development. In the direction of the residential buildings, a green parking and recreation area is being created, which at the same time creates distance between commercial and residential use. The staggered arrangement of the buildings is also intended to reduce operational noise vis-à-vis the neighborhood.
Philipp Feige, Vice President, Head of Capital Deployment and Co-Managing Director Germany at Prologis, says: "We see ourselves as a long-term partner in the districts in which we operate. For us, it is important to give companies room for further growth and at the same time to develop the location in such a way that it also fits well into the neighborhood. We are very pleased that O'Donnell has chosen this location as a Berlin-based company. The fact that the company is taking over the entire development shows the potential of this grown business location."
In view of the shortage of space, Berlin is also focusing on securing and making more efficient use of existing commercial sites. The Urban Development Plan Economy 2040 envisages, among other things, the activation of existing land potential and the further development of existing locations. The area on the industrial railway, which has been commercially oriented for decades, ties in with this objective.
"Berlin needs sustainable commercial space where companies can produce and grow," explains Dr. Severin Fischer, State Secretary for Economic Affairs, Energy and Public Enterprises. "With Berlin DC5, Prologis is further developing an existing location and creating the structural conditions for O'Donnell Moonshine to combine production and logistics in one place and continue its success story in our city. This is good news for Berlin as a business location."
On September 9, Prologis and O'Donnell Moonshine celebrated the topping-out ceremony for Berlin DC5 together with State Secretary Dr. Fischer, other representatives of the state of Berlin and those involved in the project.
